This is what I think the world needs to know about McCain/Palin: Palin ran for governor on platform of supporting the bridge to nowhere. When the US Congress removed the earmark for it, with national media scrutiny suddenly in the picture, Palin kept the money, but distributed it to other projects instead of building the bridge, although she did build the road that would have led to the bridge. This chain of events is well known, but the campaign continues to run ads claiming she "stopped the bridge to nowhere". The most charitable name I can come up with for this claim is "bullshit", but I think it's also safe to call it a lie.

I like this comment from the following blog:

Let's pray that the killing is part of G-d's plan

For those who, for whatever reason, choose not to view Ms Palin delivering her intermingling of God’s will and George Bush’s hubris, here is the full quote:

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's will."

Pray that George Bush’s plan is G-d’s will.

Let that sink in for a bit.

Ms Palin wants you to pray that not only George Bush’s plan but that Karl Rove’s Plan and Dick Cheney’s Plan and Paul Wolfowitz’s Plan and Donald Rumsfeld’s Plan and Humberto Gonzales’ Plan and most of all that Mr McCain’s future Plan is G-d’s will.

Wrap your mind around that concept.

So let’s try that.

Let’s all sit down and pray aloud together that the deceit, the botched occupation, the crappy un-armored Humvees, the killing, the dead, the wounded, the displaced, the terrorized, the profiteering, the enormous national debt – all of it – is part of G-d’s will.
